Baltec Visiona 40 Catamaran Refit

The biggest job was the two catamaran hulls. For the standards of the time, Baltec had built them to a very high standard in GRP with a foam core. The keels are a GRP solid-wood composite. First, five coats of antifouling had to be removed. “Coating is our profession,” says Thomas Schlick: We completely rebuilt the underwater coating system using state-of-the-art materials (2K primer and 2K antifouling).

After drying and replacing rotten wooden components, the keel soles were also renewed with GRP epoxy (West System). Above and below deck, everything was restored to an as-new condition. The onboard electrical system was brought up to the latest standard. New cable looms were routed from hull to hull through the aft beam. The renewal of the onboard electrical system was carried out on the basis of detailed consultation by Philippi Elektrische Systeme.
