This Dart 18, built in 1990, was extensively sailed until 2017 on Lake Steinhude, Lake Garda, and Lake Como. None of these are “sandy beach” sailing areas—so the hulls sustained corresponding wear and tear. The occasional racing bump added to this. UV radiation from sunlight causes gelcoat to age.
The catamaran was therefore brought to the Navigante Yacht & Skipper Service workshop and completely refurbished. During this process, manufacturing defects from the shipyard also came to light.
After completion of the refit work, this catamaran was better than new. It is now sailed on Lake Chiemsee.
